Proposed Transperth bus industrial action

The proposed industrial action is not scheduled to take place until the afternoon of Monday October 8.

Negotiations between Transdev and the union are still underway and we are hopeful of an outcome that avoids industrial action.

Transdev employs about 1000 bus drivers of a total of about 2500 around the metropolitan area.

Of those drivers, less than 300 voted in favour of the action.

The provision of bus services for Transperth has been under a contract model which has been in place for more than 20 years. Under these arrangements all costs, including wages, are indexed.
