Carpark construction impacts
The location of the existing short-term parking and passenger drop-off area will be used to build the new bus bridge.
- 16 November: A section of bays in the southern car park were fenced off to construct the new short-term parking and passenger drop-off area.
- 30 November: The existing short-term parking and passenger drop off area will be closed and a temporary short-term parking and passenger drop-off area will be opened.
- An additional 70 car bays have been constructed at the eastern end of the existing southern car park to maintain car bay numbers.
- Dedicated ACROD bays will be installed in the new short-term parking and passenger drop-off area.
Station access construction impacts
On Wednesday, 30 November the pedestrian bridge linking the southern car park and the station will be permanently closed and demolition of the bridge will commence. Access to the station from both the northern and southern station car parks will be via the existing bus ramp.
A pedestrian path will be created through the construction zone to provide easier access for passengers to travel to and from the station, please follow the station access signs. All pedestrian detours will have ramps installed at cross overs.
An additional temporary lane has been constructed along Cedric Street, between Ellen Stirling Boulevard and Stirling Station. This lane allows vehicles to turn left on to Cedric without stopping at the signals. Pedestrians must not cross this lane and should use the signed pedestrian detours which provide safe access to and from Stirling Station.
Bike shelter impacts
The existing bike shelter is located under the pedestrian bridge that will be demolished. This will require the temporary closure of the facility.
The bike shelter will close on 30 November to 5 December 2022. Temporary bike storage will be available in the motorbike shelter. Staff will be available during peak periods to assist people with shelter access.
To avoid damage to bikes, passenger should ensure their bikes are removed from the shelter no later than 29 November 2022.
