What are we doing?
The Murdoch Station Capacity Upgrade project is planning improvements to existing bus and pedestrian facilities at Murdoch Station.
This planning phase is supported by $10 million in combined funding from the State and Federal Governments.
Why?
Murdoch Station is the busiest suburban station on the Transperth network and sits at the heart of the Murdoch Specialised Activity Centre.
The station’s existing bus and pedestrian infrastructure is already operating at capacity. With significant population, employment, and activity growth forecast for the precinct, upgrades are needed to ensure the station can meet future demand.
Benefits
The project is planning upgrades to Murdoch Station to meet future patronage needs, including:
- Increased capacity for buses and pedestrians
- Better integration with surrounding land uses
The project is collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve land use and transport outcomes that deliver the greatest benefit to the community.
Timings
This project is in the early planning phase. A business case will be completed in late 2026 to inform government investment decisions around delivery.
