Western Australia's first locally-made electric bus has today begun passenger services, marking a major milestone in delivering a cleaner and lower-emissions public transport network.
The Malaga depot will be the first in the State to receive major upgrades to support a large fleet of electric buses, which will have capacity to fully-charge 90 buses overnight.
Communities in Perth's north-east will see an increase in bus services, with the opening of the Morley-Ellenbrook Line later this year.
An Expression of Interest (EOI) process will begin tomorrow, with industry being invited to put forward designs, as a business case is prepared for expanded services.
