Curtin Central Bus Station complete

The $15 million project was funded with a $10 million contribution from Curtin University and $5 million from the Public Transport Authority, to create a regional hub to improve connectivity for the community.

At full capacity, Curtin Central Bus Station will accommodate up to 80 bus services during peak times, servicing the growing public transport needs of the nearby community, including Curtin University's Bentley campus, over the coming decades.

About one million public transport users pass through the existing Curtin University Bus Station on Hayman Road every year, with numbers expected to grow to four million by 2035.

The new bus station includes 12 bus stands (two of which are able to accommodate longer, articulated buses), six layover stands, staff and passenger facilities including toilets and CCTV, and digital passenger information displays.

Initially 944 scheduled trips will be operating in and out of Curtin Central Bus Station on a typical weekday, in addition to the existing services from the Hayman Road facility.

From February 17, routes 30, 33, 34, 101, 284 and 960 will depart from Curtin Central Bus Station.

Curtin Central Bus Station will be complemented by recreational facilities, retail outlets and public spaces to create an integrated transit oriented development hub.
