The TrackSAFE Foundation is a harm-prevention charity dedicated to reducing near collisions, injuries and fatalities on the rail network resulting from suicide, reckless behaviour and human error.

Established in 2012 by the Australian rail industry, TrackSAFE offers trauma-related support to rail workers and specialises in rail suicide prevention, as well as level crossing and track safety.

Rail R U OK? Day

The Foundation has partnered with R U OK? to deliver its major initiative Rail R U OK? Day. The annual event strives to support the rail industry to provide an environment of ongoing support and encouragement.

Each year, as part of Rail R U OK? Day, the PTA runs a variety of initiatives for staff, encouraging them to look out colleagues who might be in need of support. The day also helps work to break down the stigma around seeking assistance for mental wellbeing.

Rail Safety Week

TrackSAFE also coordinates the annual community awareness initiative –Rail Safety Week– held in August each year, designed to engage the community in safe rail practices.

The PTA runs both internal initiatives for staff and public campaigns to promote a variety of safe practices during Rail Safety Week each year.
