The PTA is undertaking an ongoing program of work to improve accessibility for passengers at stations across the public transport network.
In accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, a range of minor works will be carried out to improve access to Transperth services for all passengers, regardless of their mobility requirements.
Work was completed at 22 stations during the 2019-20 financial year, with modifications at a further 17 to 35 stations to be undertaken in 2021-22.
The program includes:
- Installation of signage
- Remediation of existing stairs
- Installation, replacement, or extension of handrails
- Installation or replacement of tactile paving
- Creation of accessible car bays and road-marking
Accessibility improvements will be completed at the following stations in the 2021-22 financial year:
