Untitled - Shenton Road Rail Bridge

Drew Straker

Title: Untitled - Shenton Road Rail Bridge

Artist/s: Drew Straker

Year: Unknown

Category: Urban Art Mural

Site: Showgrounds Station

Location Details: Shenton Road Bridge underpass

Description:

This mural was undertaken by local artist Drew Straker, due to the proximity to the Claremont Showgrounds the Royal Show theme was a natural choice for the mural. The passing cars and their passengers almost become part of the artwork as they drive through and are immersed in the illuminated effects of the colourful light bulbs and highly detailed sideshow alley scenes. Several sections of the artwork contain ‘glow in the dark’ paint so if you’re viewing the work at night bring a torch and watch it glow!
