Shimmer

Stuart Green

Title: Shimmer

Artist/s: Stuart Green

Year: 2004

Category: Integrated

Site: Clarkson Station

Location Details: Above the main entrance

Description:

The artwork consists of a series of stainless steel and painted steel panels attached to a steel sub-frame incorporated into the station tower structure. These can be viewed from the station platform or from the main entrance to the station.

Artist/s Statement:

The work provides a landmark in the context of the adjacent town centre development. The design references the contours of the nearby bushland and the railway line as it moves through this landscape. The use of reflective stainless steel creates a shimmer and glow in the changing light of the site.

The PTA acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises  the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that this site may contain images or names of people who are deceased.
