Djoorap Youran (Happy Bobtail)

Tyrown Waigana

Title: Djoorap Youran (Happy Bobtail)

Artist/s: Tyrown Waigana

Year: 2025

Category: Sculpture

Site: Long Park, Queens Park Station precinct

Location Details: Youran Play Space

Medium: Cast and sandblasted concrete

Artist/s Statement:

This is a big, happy, scaly bobtail sitting out enjoying the sun. Much like ones you might see when you’re on a bush walk or sometimes even in your backyard. This sculpture sparks imaginations within the playground by being big enough to climb on. Imagine having a big bobtail friend that you can ride around on.
