10 Stations, 10 Weeks, 5.24pm

Lyn Merrington

Title: 10 Stations, 10 Weeks, 5.24pm

Artist/s: Lyn Merrington

Year: 2004

Category:  Integrated

Site: Currambine Station

Location Details: Currambine Station Stairwell

Description:

The artwork, in the stairwell, is a series of painted images of the landscape near each station between Perth and Clarkson, depicting a sliver of the scene at the same time on consecutive work days. Five vertical mosaic designs at the base of the stairs in the underpass complete the artwork.

Artist/s Statement:

The subtle changes of colour highlight the delicate, ephemeral nature of the changing environment at a time when we are becoming more aware of its importance for us and its changes.

The PTA acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises  the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that this site may contain images or names of people who are deceased.
