Resumption of all metropolitan train services

Transperth wishes to advise that train services are resuming on all metropolitan lines, with the first trains leaving Perth at 9.30am this morning (Monday 16 February 2004).

First return (to Perth) services are as follows:

first train from Armadale to Perth will leave Armadale at 10.16am;

first train from Midland to Perth will leave Midland at 10.00am;

first train from Currambine to Perth will leave Currambine 10.13am; and,

first train from Fremantle to Perth will leave Fremantle at 10.12am.

From this time, train services will run at 15 minute intervals and will progressively return to normal timetabled services.

All metropolitan train services were disrupted throughout the weekend due to industrial action by the Australian Rail, Tram and Bus Industry Union.

To receive up-to-date service information, passengers can register with TravelEasy at www.transperth.wa.gov.au to receive email updates; call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13, TTY 9428 1999 (delays may be experienced); or visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au .

Transperth apologises for these disruptions, which are a result of industrial action by the Australian Rail, Tram and Bus Industry Union.  The industrial action occurred despite sustained efforts by the Public Transport Authority to resolve the dispute with the union, including securing a back-to-work order from the Industrial Relations Commission on Friday 13 February.
