Artist/s Statement:

Intersections, junctions and connections all take place via public pathways. Ian Mutch has beautifully illustrated themes of local nature and industry, merging culture and time, and encouraging pedestrian flow towards the Midland Train Station terminal.

On the north side, the circular artwork celebrates the timeless beauty of nature from the Swan & Helena River Junction, Mandoon, Mandjanup and surrounding hills. In contrast, the southern artwork circle portrays the heritage of the Midland Railway Workshops, pivotal in the industrial growth of Midland and Western Australia.

Ian Mutch is an Australian artist creating a whimsical world of characters, nature and details. His work has won awards and given life to public spaces.
