Timetable changes for new station opening

23/09/2004

Timetables for most northern suburbs bus routes are about to change to reflect the October 4 commencement of train services to the new station at Clarkson.

Revised northern line train timetables also come into force when Clarkson, a 4km extension of the Northern Suburbs Railway, comes on stream.

Transperth director Mark Burgess said today that timetables for all bus routes which operated along the Joondalup line had to be replaced or updated to ensure that maximum connectivity was maintained when the train timetable changed.

New bus routes had also been introduced as Transperth continued to refine its world-class, fully-integrated public passenger transport system.

“Basically, if you live in the north-western suburbs and you use public transport, you will need a new timetable,” Mr Burgess said.

“Thousands of our customers will be affected by these changes, so we are making a big effort to advise them beforehand, with advertisements, flyers and posters on trains and buses and at stations and interchanges.

“The changes are also being outlined through the internet, on our website and through our TravelEasy email notification service.

“Timetables are available from Transperth InfoCentres – there are four in the city, at the Busport, the Wellington Street bus and train stations, and in Plaza Arcade – the Transperth information offices at the Armadale, Fremantle and Midland interchanges, by calling the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13 (TTY:9428 1999), or from www.transperth.wa.gov.au
