Road works to build the Wellington Street bus entrance to the new Perth Busport started in March 2015.
This entrance will help ease CBD congestion and travel time during peak periods for vehicles using Milligan, Wellington and William streets. Click here to read more about the Wellington Street entrance.
Work on the Wellington Street entrance to Perth Busport is planned to begin in March, with new traffic conditions in place.
The three-stage process will involve:
All road work for the Wellington Street entrance will be completed by mid-2016.
Closing Wellington Street Temporary Bus Station will change a number of services.
Wellington Street Temporary Bus Station services
On Sunday February 1, 2015, the following services will start and end at the Esplanade Busport until Perth Busport is operational in 2016. They will operate from the following stands:
Routes 30, 31 and 34 will also undergo time changes.
William Street Services
As the bus services which previously used Wellington Street Temporary Bus Station now terminate at Esplanade Busport, they will no longer travel down William Street.
Wellington Street services
During the Wellington Street bus entrance work, Route 28 and Yellow CAT stops 15 and 24 (Raine Square and William Street) on Wellington Street, between William and King streets, will be closed. The nearest stops are on Wellington Street east of Milligan Street and at Perth Station.
Route 220 will now operate along St Georges Terrace and Adelaide Terrace.
Yellow CAT stand changes
To create the entrance Yellow CAT Stop 15 (Raine Square) and Stop 24 (William Street) will be out of use. The nearest available Yellow CAT stops are:
School Specials 789, 790 and 791 will depart from Wellington Street just east of William Street in the mornings. In the afternoon they will terminate at Forrest Chase. There will be significant changes to the entire school bus network click here for more information.
Route 950 and the Mandurah and Joondalup Line will provide connectivity between the Esplanade and Wellington Street.

Wellington Street traffic conditions have changed to allow work on the second entrance to Perth Busport in the centre of Wellington Street.
Wellington Street is reduced to one lane in each direction, between William and King streets.
King Street has also changed to left-turn only onto Wellington Street. Vehicles can no longer turn right from Wellington Street into Queen Street or Raine Square car park.

Lane configurations will change during the works however one lane in each direction will be maintained at all times.
As of Sunday 7 February, traffic conditions on Wellington Street will change.
Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction with a change to the road configuration on Wellington Street.
East-bound traffic will be moved to the north side of Wellington Street and to the north of the construction site. West-bound traffic will continue to travel on the south side of the street.
As per previous stages, access to Wellington Street from King Street will remain left-turn only and there will be no right turn from Wellington Street into Prince Lane, Queen Street, or any residence or access way on the south side of Wellington Street (between King and Williams streets).
Wellington Street will return to two lanes in each direction once work is complete in mid-2016.
