Perth Busport to open Sunday 17 July
Welcome to Perth's new underground scene!
The new underground Perth Busport will start operating on Sunday 17 July 2016. It is the final transport component in the Perth City Link project, which sees the realisation of a 100-year vision to reconnect the Perth CBD and Northbridge. To celebrate, we’re having a Community Open Day on Saturday 16 July between noon and 3pm. So why not come along and be one of the first to see the new Perth Busport.
For passengers that usually catch their bus from the Roe Street Temporary Bus Station, from first service on Sunday 17 July, they’ll need to go the Perth Busport instead. For timetable and passenger information, visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au or call the InfoLine on 13 62 13.
Where is the new Perth Busport?
It sits right next to the Roe Street Temporary Bus Station between Roe Street and Wellington Street. While the majority of the Busport is underground, it can be accessed from three ground-level entrances, at King Street, Queen Street and Yagan Square.
Lifts, stairs and escalators connect passengers from the entrances to the underground lounge level and all 16 bus stands. There are automated help points in all three entrances and three more down in the lounge. They provide service information and will link to emergency help if required. There is also an InfoKiosk in the lounge with friendly staff on hand to help passengers with information and accessibility requirements. The Yagan Square entrance, the closest to Perth Station, is also home to our brand new Transperth InfoCentre.
As a result of the move to Perth Busport, most services that currently run out of the Roe Street Temporary Bus Station will undergo a timetable change. Please visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au for an updated timetable.
