Planning for the second stage of the Perth City Link, building a new underground Wellington Street Bus Station, is well under way.

In late January 2013 the Public Transport Authority issued a request for proposals. Submissions close on March 12 and the contract, estimated to be worth $175 million, will be awarded later this year.

Works are expected to begin in 2014 and be completed in 2016.
