Service relocation forward works start in Forrestfield-Station Community Zone on Monday 8 February for approximately six months.

Forrestfield Station Community Zone forward works - service relocations

Forward works in the Forrestfield Station Community Zone are continuing, with the relocation of gas and fibre-optic services at the future Forrestfield Station site. This is to ensure that these services aren’t disrupted during the construction of the station and tunnel dive structure. Works will start on Monday 8 February and are expected to last for approximately six months. It is likely that the busiest period of works will be around March.

From Monday 8 February, you will start to notice increased activity as the site mobilises. Throughout the next six months, the work will involve contractors working on behalf of the Public Transport Authority relocating numerous underground pipes and cables.  The standard hours of site work will be Monday – Friday (7am – 5pm).

Traffic impact

From Monday 8 February and lasting for approximately five days, there will be intermittent traffic impact on Dundas Road during the construction of a new slip-lane to provide safe access to site. During this time, two-way traffic will be reduced to one lane and there will also be speed restrictions in place.  However, there will be a traffic management plan – approved by the Shire of Kalamunda – in place at all times.

The slip-lane will ensure that disturbance to traffic throughout the six-month works period will be kept to a minimum.

Noise impact

It is likely that those closest to the site may experience some intermittent noise impact during the works. If you have any concerns about noise, please get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of the page.

Other impact

During the works, it will be necessary to vent the pipelines, to discharge any excess gas. This has no safety impact to you but may cause a gaseous smell to residents closest to the works. We will directly contact residents nearest to the site to inform them of this closer to the works when the exact dates are known.

We aim to carry out these works with as little impact as possible. If you have any questions or would like to discuss these works in more detail, please email or call 13 62 13.
