Preferred respondent is announced

Forrestfield-Airport Link project has hit a major milestone – by announcing their preferred proponent as Salini Impregilo - NRW Joint Venture (made up of Salini Impregilo S.p.A. and NRW Pty Ltd) to fulfil the main Design and Construct contract.

It brings to an end the 15-week period of evaluating proposals from the three shortlisted proponents. The proposals were judged on a combination of their price and plans for design and construction, as well as innovation, stakeholder engagement and delivery management plans.

The Public Transport Authority will now enter into negotiations with Salini Impregilo - NRW Joint Ventureto finalise the contract by May. This now means that – after contract award – we will be able to provide the community with more detailed information about the project.

Construction will start later this year and the first trains are expected to run on the line in 2020.

You can read a statement from the Minister for Transport, Hon Dean Nalder, here.

The other shortlisted proponents were:

• Forrestfield Connect (ACCIONA Infrastructure, BAM International and Ferrovial Agroman)
• JHL JV (John Holland and Leighton Contractors)
