The average person could be forgiven for thinking that not much is happening at the Perth City Link Bus Project site. However just how much progress has been made was revealed this month with the release of two new videos.
Far from the traditional before-and-after progress shots, these aerial videos give a birds-eye-view (albeit, a bird that’s a bit out of its usual flight path) of just how much groundwork takes place before an underground facility can be completed.
The flythrough videos provide an all access pass to not only the above ground work area, which is hidden behind solid hoarding, but also the construction taking place under the ground.
The videos provide the public with a fascinating insight into a subterranean construction site that very few people usually get to see.
The first video takes viewers six metres under the ground, to what will become the fully climate-controlled passenger lounge and bus circulation area.
The underground landscape, flanked by massive concrete pillars, may not look like much, but over 42,000 cubic metres of soil have been removed to create a cosy home for the new Perth Busport.
In the March update video you can see the three portals passenger entrances, starting to rise from the ground. The three entrances to Perth Busport will be at Yagan Square, Queens Street and King Street.

More videos will be uploaded as construction continues, so keep an eye on the Perth City Link website or Youtube channel to see the Busport take shape.
