Book now for Jonathan Beninca’s September visit to Perth

Book now for Jonathan Beninca’s September visit to Perth

Wednesday, 30 March 2016

Hopefully most of you were lucky enough to meet Rail Safety Ambassador Jonathan Beninca over the last couple of weeks. Perhaps he came to your school or youth organisation or maybe you met him at the Right Track Dance Party or BBQ.

For those of you who did see Jonathan he has the following message for you:

“Wow what a quick two weeks it's been! It's been fantastic to have the opportunity to visit so many schools and youth groups to share my experience with you. Remember that my experience of taking a dangerous risk on the train line is real and my injuries are real - look out for your mates and make smarter, safer choices when using public transport.

The Right Track dance party was a blast and there were heaps of free giveaways, I met a couple of kids there who asked if I would be visiting their school. I can say they were really excited when I turned up at their school on Monday morning.

My visits wouldn't be possible without the support of the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, so a big thank you to the PTA, and an even bigger thank you to everyone who took the opportunity to book a presentation.

Can't wait to see you again in September.

Best wishes and stay safe!

Jonathan”

If you missed Jonathan this time, then as he says in his message, the good news is that he’ll be back in September. Teachers can book a presentation by visiting the Right Track website and we advise you get in early as places do fill up fast!

Over the next few months whilst Jonathan is not available to visit your school in person then check out The Wrong Side of the Tracks - Jonathan’s Story. This short film tells Jonathan’s story of how he became a double amputee after being run over by a train and contains some very powerful messages.
