Behind the Scenes - The Jonathan Beninca Story

Behind the Scenes - The Jonathan Beninca Story

Friday, 1 May 2015

Lights, Camera, Action… is not a phrase heard often around the Transperth rail network, but it has been commonplace over the past few weeks with the filming of a re-enactment video of Jonathan Beninca’s story for Right Track.

Right Track and Elephant Productions have been busy re-creating the circumstances leading up to the fateful night 16 years ago that Jonathan decided to trespass on the rail network and vandalise a train. His choices on that night resulted in the loss of his right leg, right arm and several fingers from his left hand.

For those familiar with Jonathan’s story this message won’t come as a surprise, but for others that haven’t been so lucky to see Jonathan in person, this short film will showcase the real life consequences that walking on the rail tracks can have, opening the issue up for discussion in schools and community groups across WA.

Rail and hospital staff as well as some talented actors have all pitched in and lent a hand to bring this story to light.

Filming is wrapping up this week and the finished product will be released within the next month or so. Stay tuned to the Right Track website and Facebook page to see the final film.
