The Public Transport Authority (PTA) will begin work next year to build a three-way roundabout at the intersection of Hester Avenue and Baltimore Parade in Merriwa.
The roundabout will allow for the reinstatement of the 483 Transperth bus service’s right-turn from Baltimore Parade onto Hester Avenue, which was diverted in July 2017 due to safety concerns.
The new roundabout will:
- Improve the on-time running of the 483 service by two to three minutes on an average trip.
- Improve the reliability and legibility of the 483 service.
- Provide pedestrians with a safer alternative crossing option once complete.
The design process will start soon. Construction is expected to take six months.
