Work began in May 2015 to build a $2.9 million car park at Guildford Station off Johnson Street, as part of the State Government’s commitment to increase parking across the Transperth network.
The new car park opened for use in July 2016.
The new car park is located on the once unsealed section of land slightly north east of the station and increased the number of bays at the station by 350.
It also included a shared path link between Johnson Street and the western pedestrian crossing to allow access from the car park to the station.
This shared path will ultimately link with a Main Roads of WA project to create a shared path along the rail reserve from Bassendean to Midland stations.
