To allow upgrades in Perth Station to occur as part of this project, works will take place on Barrack Street Bridge and Wellington Street from April 2012 to November 2012.Changes to traffic conditions can be found on the 'map' tab. All access for the Citiplace complex, and from the Perth Station entrance into Forrest Place, will remain throughout the work.
This work includes closing and demolishing the staircase on the Wellington Street side of the Horseshoe Bridge.
No impact to the two northbound lanes. Southbound traffic will close. Motorists connecting from Roe Street to Wellington Street should find alternate routes, such as the Horseshoe Bridge or Lord Street.
As per the current arrangement, cyclists are required to travel with road traffic during this work. Southbound cyclists wishing to continue using this route must dismount and use the footpath.
Access, including ramps, into Citiplace and Perth Station will remain open. The two-stage road work will see only the eastern footpath open in Stage 1, and only the western footpath open in Stage 2.
The blue CAT stop will be relocated to Beaufort Street, next to the Art Gallery of WA.
This work has no impact on Perth Station. Access from Barrack Street Bridge will remain open.
Pedestrians must use the south-side of Wellington Street.
The Wellington Street bus stops, located between William Street and Barrack Street, will be closed from May 2012 to late 2012. Please see map and visit the Transperth website for alternative stops.
From late 2012, the southside stops will reopen. In mid-2013, the northside stop will reopen.
