Bike Parking Facility Upgrade
Photograph: Bike Shelter

Upgrade to a selection of bike parking facilities across the network has been completed.

Stations that attract a lot of bike patronage have had their shelters doubled to accommodate the growing number of people choosing to ride to stations.

Shelters have been upgraded with SmartRider card swipe machines providing 24/7 access to the shelter.

This arrangement means a bike shelter can be accessed only with a SmartRider card which has been registered for a designated shelter.   Access will be free to encourage people to choose to ride to a train station knowing their bike will be secure and protected from the weather.

To register or to find out more, click here, pick up a form at a Transperth InfoCentre, or phone the Transperth InfoLine on 136213.

Bike lockers and u-rails will continue to be available at designated stations and, with the new shelters, will provide parking for over 1370 bikes across the urban rail system.
