In 2008 the State Government committed $50 million to add up to a further 3000 parking bays on the Joondalup and Mandurah lines.

The new bays are being created by  either redesigning and extending existing car parks or adding new car park areas on nearby adjacent land.  The new parking bays will be a mix of pay’n’display and free bays, depending on demand and on the practicality of providing security.

On the two lines, extra bays have already been constructed at Edgewater  - 160 bays; Greenwood (Stage 1)  -  120 bays; and Murdoch  -  160 bays. 

Construction has commenced at Whitfords (Stage 2) and Greenwood (Stage 2).

Continuing over the next four years, planning and approvals will be sought for increases at:

Joondalup Line

• Clarkson
• Greenwood (Stage 3)  
• Stirling
• Glendalough   

Mandurah Line

• Cockburn Central  
• Kwinana
• Rockingham   
• Warnbro
• Mandurah
