Bus Stop Accessibility Works Program

The PTA formally launched its Bus Stop Accessibility Works Program in July 2010.   Under the program, the government initially has allocated more than $3 million per annum to the PTA to upgrade its network of 13,000 bus stops.

The 14-year program aims to progressively upgrade bus stops across the State meet the requirements of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport (Disability Standards) and the Disability Discrimination Act. 

The PTA is responsible for administering the program and has developed a guideline document (click here) to help local government and the community understand the objective, issues and requirements.
