Perth Busport disruption

Perth Busport will close early on two nights next week so that fire and safety testing can be carried out.

The facility will close at 10pm on Friday (April 28), and 8pm on Saturday (April 29).

During the closure, services will run from Wellington Street immediately adjacent to Perth train station.

Transperth staff will be on hand to direct passengers to their services.

Testing will also take place overnight on April 27 and on May 1, but this will not impact passengers.

The testing will involve the use of a special smoke machine inside Perth Busport, so artificial smoke will be visible from the three ground-level entrances - Yagan Square, Queen Street and King Street - as well as from the Milligan Street and Wellington Street tunnels.

The Perth Busport underwent a rigorous testing and commissioning process before opening in July last year.

Further testing is conducted as a matter of course as part of the Public Transport Authority’s commitment to safety.

Passengers seeking further information about how their bus services might be affected, can visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au or download the Transperth App for more information.
