East Perth Station temporary footbridge closure

A pedestrian footbridge at East Perth Station will close for 34 hours from 8pm Friday June 30.

The pedestrian footbridge will reopen at 6am on Sunday, July 2.

The station is being upgraded and the bridge will be closed so two large sections of the new concourse can be craned into place.

The works also require a closure on the Midland Line so replacement buses will operate from the East Parade side of the station.

Passengers travelling to or from the west side of the tracks at East Perth Station (where the Public Transport Centre is located) are strongly encouraged to use Claisebrook or Mt Lawley stations and avoid East Perth altogether.

Community members who wish to cross the tracks can do so at either the Lord Street underpass or the Graham Farmer Freeway pathway.

There are about 200 boardings on a typical Saturday at East Perth Station.

Transperth is installing signage at the station, and delivering letters to nearby residents.

Rugby fans attending the game at nib  Stadium are urged to use Claisebrook Station instead.

Visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au or call the InfoLine on 13 62 13 for more information.
